A Few Tidbits

I just wanted to pop in and say hi.

And also to say that I'm excited about a couple things that happened this week.

The most meaningful thing came in the form of you, my readers.  Three of you approached me this week and shared with me that All Mimsy has inspired you to dig out your own projects and create that 'something special' you've been putting off far too long.

That makes me so happy :-)  I would LOVE to see your finished projects, so please plan to share them with me when they are done.  I will even dedicate a post to showcase your project, as nothing would tickle me more than to see those around me excited about creating.

Also, if you have not discovered Shaunna at Perfectly Imperfect, you must visit her blog when you get the chance.  Her blog is very much the inspiration that drove me toward beginning this adventure I call All Mimsy (in another post I will share with you how I came up with the name of my blog since many have asked....), and Shaunna has recently published her first ebook called "Creating Your Masterpiece."

Almost two weeks ago I downloaded her ebook for $9.99 and thoroughly enjoyed reading through the first several pages.  Shaunna includes video portions which are quite interactive, but they take awhile to watch so progress through the book was taking me quite some time.

Tonight, though, I was looking for something in particular so I 'turned' to the back of the book and, lo and behold, I came across two pictures of my very own furniture pieces right in the book!

Quite awhile back, Shaunna invited readers to send pictures of Before and After pieces which she would consider including in her book.  However, she said she would contact us further should our pictures be chosen.  Having never heard anything, I assumed mine had been ruled out.  What a wonderful surprise to see my furniture and my name, spelled correctly even, at the end of her book! (I am sure in the busy-ness of finishing the book Shaunna just forgot to let us know she was using our pictures, but I don't know....and I really don't care :-)

Anyway, this is all leaving me with quite aglow today, so I thought I would tell you about it.

That, and the fact that while attempting to prime a pretty incredible metal and wood console table tonight with my Kilz primer, the nozzle clogged and it wouldn't spray correctly.  I'm letting the nozzle soak in mineral spirits while I type, hoping when I'm finished I can go back to priming.

I really wanted to try a new finish on the table tonight but I'm afraid I'm running out of time...and energy.

Good night, dear ones,

Jaimee

  1. So thats how you unclog a Kilz primer nozzle? Good to know for the future. I just threw my half-used can away after it clogged on me. However, I don't keep mineral spirits on hand; what exactly are mineral spirits?

Congratulations on your pieces being included in Shaunna's book! You are a rock star, sis!
