Two Nightstands

My husband's folks boarded a plane this morning back to Middleton, ID, after a week-long visit to Alaska.  What a special time.  While here, my father-in-love helped Mr. Wonderful install a new pump to our hot water heater which brings almost-instant hot water.  We've lived in our house for two years with very slow hot water response in our tap, often moving on with showers or washing pots while the water is still lukewarm.  What a simple blessing to have fast hot water!

Another gift from my mother-in-love was a complete servicing of my old, yet precious, Bernina sewing machine.  I've owned it for years, having received it as a gift from our pastor's wife and dear friend, yet had never had taken it in for complete servicing.  I can already see and feel a huge difference, and am thankful for this simple yet meaningful gift of love.

I was able to finish a couple nightstands while they were here.

I distressed these pretty heavily after painting them ASCP Provencal.  This is the first time I've used my mouse sander to distress. Loved this quick and effective method, perfect for heavy distressing on edges and around the curved bottoms.

I received these nightstands from my friend Jody who is downsizing and moving out to a farm complete with 20 acres of land, a barn and horses.  I'm so happy for her and her hubby as they make this enormous transition in their lives.

Here's a before picture (not of my friend, but of the nightstands :) )

The drawers had some staining and discoloration inside, so I opted to paint them a bright pink to freshen them up.  A fun surprise when you open them ~

These are spoken for by a woman who especially loves heavily distressed pieces.  Part of the creating process involves releasing a portion of myself when I sell, so it's fulfilling to see pieces go to homes of others who enjoy them like I do.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Jaimee
